Pucky, the white-faced lovebird
First of all...I found out that Pucky is a male!! There are some pages where you read that he is a "she", but that I still have to change. Since February 2, 2000 I know that Pucky is male after doing a DNA test in England at Avian Biotech International (Cornwall), see this certificate:
This is Pucky, my lovebird. He is about 3½ year. In the beginning he bit me very hard, but in spite of this I took him out of his cage every day and hold him in my hand and squeeze his feathers and give him - as I always did with Tommie - kisses for example on the beak etc. I am not afraid for a bite and I am sure a bird can feel this. So after some weeks he sometimes bit me but not so hard anymore! He is very curious and not afraid. He followes Rakker everywhere in my living room and when Rakker sits on my shoulder, Pucky does the same. He is a true acrobat!! He loves to play near my computer, scanner and modem. His favourite food is millet and sunflower seeds. Find more pictures of Pucky below!
A few weeks later (Sunday, August 2th, 1998): Pucky is very tame now, he doesn't bite anymore and I can hold him in my hand as often as I like, give him kisses on his breast and beak, etc. It really is great!! He sees me as a his friend because when I come near to him he always wants to give me seeds. But when he is out of his cage I have to keep an eye on him, because everything in my room is interesting.
