The story of Pucky and Sweetie! (5)

December 28, 2000
No changes...everything goes wonderful. The babies are fed by Sweetie and Pucky is eating and eating to feed Sweetie, LOL!! I give them a lot of eggfood incl. meal-worms. Aachhhh!! Okay, they are very very dead indeed, but to see those tiny little creatures in the food, yuck! But it's good for them, it gives them a lot of protein!

December 30, 2000:
The third baby is born! Only he is soooo tiny, small and little. He 's a "problem-child", I guess. Till now Sweetie didn't feed him. Today, Sunday December 31 the baby is about 1½ day old. I have contacted my lovebird society (BVA http://go.to/bva) and one of them told me to try and feed him a little. Just to help him getting a little stronger to ask his mom for food. I tried three times now, but I find it a bit scary, but I got some food in his crop. I hope it will help, but if Sweetie don't feed him he will die. I can't feed the baby every our, for example I have a full-time job, it's just impossible. Maybe Sweetie thinks the baby is too weak and just don't feed 'm. I really dunno. It's so sad, but these are things that can happen, if you have a nest. Oh and the baby has red eyes...so that also means that it's more weak than usual. Well...let's hope and pray that everything will work out for him/her, okay??

Here a photo of the little one:

I have sad news. The baby died this morning. Sweetie just ignored him. He lived for two days...fighting for his life, but it just wasn't meant to be.....
The other two babies are OK. So I am glad that they look healthy and that Sweetie feeds them. Here some new pics of the babies:

January 4, 2001 (Midnight, LOL):
With the babies everything's okay. I ringed the eldest bird tonight. Yesterday I already tried, but it could be removed easily. That's not good. But tonight it worked very good. See this picture how I ringed Sammy:

You've to be very careful because these babies are so fragile. Here the latest pictures, taken at January 3 in the evening:
