The story of Pucky and Sweetie! (1)

Something happened which I didn't expect at all! You all know that I had Pucky for almost two years before I got Sweetie. Sweetie came into Pucky's life in the end of February this year. Anyway, in the beginning they didn't like each other very much. Especially Pucky, he was so attached to me (of course, LOL), but Sweetie was sometimes trying to get Puck's attention. Mostly without any results.

But slowly they became friends, just to play with each other. Then.....some weeks ago.....they started mating! I didn't expect that at all. They already had a nest box in their cage, but they only played with it, nothing more. Well..to make a long story short....they fell in love and now Sweetie has already laid TWO EGGS!! (October 16, 2000).

Okay...I know that those birds are two different kind of lovebirds, a peach faced and a blue masked, but I don't mind. Normally you don't breed two different kind of lovebirds, but I asked an expert breeder of lovebirds and he told me that they can have babies, only those babies aren't fertile. I really don't know what will come out of those eggs, but I 'll keep you posted on this.

She laid her fist egg at Friday, October 13 and her second egg at Sunday, October 15. I saw that she has another egg with her and she will lay that tomorrow, if everything goes well.

This is the cage where Pucky and Sweetie live in, it looks small but it's a very big cage. You see Pucky looking at me taking the picture and on the bottom on the right you see the nest box.

Today I could see, almost for sure, that already one of the eggs is fertilized! Ohhh...I am so excited about this. 

Today, Tuesday October the 17th, Sweetie has laid her third egg. I saw it early this morning, just before going off to work.

Today, Tuesday October 19th, Sweetie laid the fourth egg. I was home late, so I couldn't take any pictures, but hopefully tomorrow evening I will put up some new pics.
