The third nest of Pucky and
Sweetie (1)
March 7, 2001:
Right after Tommie and Sammy were gone they already had two eggs. I let them breed one more time, because the first nest didn't hatch. Otherwise it would be too much for my Sweetie girl. She's such a great mom and I love to see her taking care of her babies. Okay, she laid 7 (!!) eggs! The first egg has hatched March 3, the second on March 4 and the third on March 6. This time I bought special equipment to increase the humidity in my room. And it works!! It isn't cheap, it costs about 200 guilders, but now the eggs of Pucky and Sweetie are hatching better than ever!! LOL!! I am very curious because I 'm almost sure that 6 of the 7 eggs are fertilized. I expect the fourth baby tomorrow. Keep you posted on this page! Here you 'll see some photo's from the first baby till the third one:

The fourth baby is born on March 8! The fifth egg was opened by Sweetie on March 10 and the baby was already dead.... :o(
There were still two eggs to go, but I was almost sure that the seventh egg wasn't fertilized and I was right. The sixth egg was fertilized, but the baby died in an early stadium. So there are four babies, but I guess that's enough for Pucky and Sweetie to feed them all!! Things are going terrific. But I was certain that it would go like this...because she turned out to be a perfect mom. One of the babies had red eyes, but the color has changed...can be cinnamon or something like that. But the fourth baby still have red eyes, so I am very curiuos...that could be a lutino or albino baby?? We'll see when he gets his feathers!!Here some of the latest photo's:

Nothing serious to tell! LOL! No...everything goes perfect. I 'm curious what kind of birdie the little one (the fourth baby) will become. He's just a bit different now, but that can change. I love holding the babies in my hand...they are so cute. They are trying to find the perfect place to lay down and fall asleep....!here some new photo's:
