Tommie went to Peter and Ria and they are very happy with this
bird. And that's great to hear!! I miss him, I also miss Sammy, but live goes
on, also for these lovebird babies. I just cannot keep them all, LOL!
I don't have new photo's of Sammy yet, but I soon will visit
Conny and take with me my digital cam. Now and then I will put something on this
site, but not that often as with the diary, but you can understand that!!
Peter and Ria had a lovebird before and his name was Rico. he
got sick and died right after that. The surgery the bird had, didn't help him.
So after waiting for a while they decided to buy a new lovebird. They already
have a budgie named Rikkie. He is so adorable!!
Peter made a cute photo of Rico he still had and a photo of
Tommie when he was a little baby, look at this one (click on the thumbnail):

Tommie wrote a letter to me!!! Here it is:
’s-Hertogenbosch, 21 February 2001,
Dear
auntie Ellen,
My
parents allowed me to write a letter to you, but they told me that on top I had
to put ‘aunt Ellen”. I think that is a little bit strange, because down deep
I thought you were my mommy! But no, they said, they are my mummy and daddy and
I do as they wish because they feed me, isn’t it?
By the
way, the food is very good here! I can eat millet as much as I want and daddy
makes in my food cup a kind of a cocktail. I like it very much. Also he hangs a
stick in my little house with seeds on it, but I think my beak is still not
strong enough.
They
also had prepared a nice bed for me. It looks a little like the one I had with
you, but it is much bigger. I think I’m getting company in the future, because
it is really too big for me alone!!
Next to
my house there is another house with a creature in it what looks a little like
me, but not quite. He is also green, has a very long tail and a small head. He
is about as big as I am and he is called Rikkie. He is a funny chap, because he
is eager to feed me, and I let him do, because sometimes I am a bit lazy, you
know. He is also a bit jealous, because when we together sit with daddy and I
come to close with his face he gives me a (little) bite. Rikkie is a HE, I know
that for sure, but it is strange that he all the time wants to kiss and cuddle
with the boss, who is also a HE. Don’t they have a word for such persons?
Sometimes I try to do so also, but I am careful, because he has a moustache and
a beard and that tickles a little when I come close. Maybe, when I am a little
bit older and wiser I can kiss and cuddle also with his lips.
In the
meantime he scratches my back in a very very nice way. I can lay in full length
under his warm hand and he cuddles me in a very gentle way, I even fall asleep
sometimes!! I think he is a good daddy.
I
don’t see my mummy very much. Only in the evening, and then she talks to me in
a gentle way and sometimes I let her cuddle my back. Also sometimes she talks to
me in a mad way and she does that when I am looking outside to the other birds
in the garden (by the way, I am hanging in the curtains then).
At first
I thought I was in a veeeeery big house, but when I start to fly right away, my
beak bumps into something I could not see. Anyway, after a few times, and a good
look, I could see a small reflection, and from then there is no more bumping.
During
the day, I may come out of my house and then Rikkie en me are sitting on the
backside of a chair en we are looking outside. While we are looking outside we
babble and cuddle a bit. Very cozy.
Well, I
am going to end this letter. In a few weeks I will write you more about how I am
doing over here. I enclose a few pictures daddy made from me. Ain’t I cute?

I got some new photo's of Tommie and his budgie friend Rikkie! Peter
and Ria bought a new supersonic (LOL) digital camera and oohhh....one photo
is so special and beautiful! I made a wallpaper of it for myself...gna gna
gna!!
